psoriasis

Psoriasis (from Greek "psora" - "skin disease, ab") is a chronic non-infectious disease. Scales lichens (hence they also call psoriasis) mainly affect the skin areas of the elbow and knee joints, head and lower back. However, there are also psoriasis in nails, joints and external genitals, but these forms are extremely rare.

Causes of psoriasis

psoriasis

This disease is due to a short life cycle. The truth is that in a healthy person, skin cells renew every 30 days, i. e. their cycle of division and maturation occurs within about 4 weeks. One might say that psoriasis is an abnormal response of the body to various external stimuli, so in some places the upper layer of the skin dies in just 4-5 days, leaving behind a keratinized area.

To date, psoriasis has been considered a multifaceted disease, i. e. , the disease is based on a range of causes: immunological metastasis, metabolic diseases, various concomitant neurological and endocrine diseases.

The exact cause of a person suffering from psoriasis is not finally established. There are several theories in this regard. According to one of these, there are two types of psoriasis:

  • The reason for type I is inherited through the collapse of the immune system. This form of disease that affects the skin is ill in about 65% of people, most commonly between the ages of 18 and 25.
  • Type II psoriasis type appears in people over the age of 40, and it is not inherited and is not associated with invasion in cells of the immune system. Unlike the first type, the second type includes psoriasis of nails and joints.

According to another theory, psoriasis occurs only due to impaired immunity, which can be caused by infectious diseases, stress, alcoholic beverages, malnutrition, cold climates. Fixtures, pepper and foods containing vinegar can cause worsening and worsening psoriasis. According to this theory, psoriasis is a systemic disease. This means that due to severe damage to the immune system, the process can spread from the skin to other tissues and organs, for example, due to the formation of psoriatic arthritis.

Symptoms of psoriasis

Symptoms of psoriasis on the scalp, knees, elbows and lower back are red or pink skinned papules. They are covered in silver scales (hence the name "Scaly Lichen"), and when combing, they disappear easily. Over time, the size of the spots increases, merge into large layers (plaques) and affect more and larger areas, and suffers damaged skin cracks and bleeding.

Psoriasis on nails differs. First, the nail plates darken and spots appear on them. Psoriasis is often used, and the nails become thicker and collapse.

Symptoms of psoriasis are accompanied by severe itching in the form of a rash, especially in papules, but are suitable for nearby areas.

According to the intensified seasonality, there are three types of psoriasis: summer, winter and uncertainty. Most commonly, the winter type is found - its symptoms will diminish under the influence of sunlight and sometimes disappear completely. In contrast, in patients in summer form, the course of the disease worsens under the influence of the sun.

Treatment of psoriasis

The treatment of psoriasis depends on its type and is carried out by various drugs and methods. In any case, treatment should be complicated.

Drug treatment of psoriasis in the progressive stage usually includes:

  • antihistamines;
  • Drugs for over-blood birth;
  • Vitamins A, C, B6, B12;

During the fixed phase of psoriasis, automatic therapy (with your own blood treatment), injection of antigenic protein or reflex (in the presence of a focal point of chronic infection), and in the case of ultraviolet radiation. For external use, caramel, sulfuric acid ointment with tar and naphthalene and corticosteroids were prescribed.

Often, psoriasis on the scalp and skin in other parts of the human body is treated with laser treatment. Lazer rays activate active fabric molecules, thus providing optical mechanical, photochemical and other positive effects.

Treatment of psoriasis

To treat severe psoriasis forms, photo chemotherapy was used, which implies the effects on long-wave UV rays and the skin using special drugs. Thanks to photochemotherapy, you can get rid of about 80% of your plaque and use it regularly – about 95%. In the course of severe disease, intake of corticosteroid hormones and cytotoxic immunosuppressants is pointed out.

Treatment of psoriasis with folk therapy

Folk recipes also help get rid of the symptoms of psoriasis. But it is worth recalling that the cause of this disease may be a collapse in the immune system and a loss of immunity due to chronic diseases. Therefore, first, psoriasis treatment should be reached with the main doctor, and secondly, only basic therapies should be supplemented.
